We offer a range of therapies specifically tailored to each case and using the most appropriate and approved methods.
Brief Therapy with parents and very young children: this lasts for less than a year and sometimes for as little as 4-5 sessions. We can help support and develop your relationship with your under 5.
Young People’s Counselling: we can offer 6-8 sessions of work focussing upon specific issues that the young person would like help with.
Therapeutic Consultation(s): this may be a one off session or can take place over several weeks and can offer understanding of the emotional factors leading to difficulties. This frequently forms part of an assessment process through which recommendations for therapy can be made. Report writing may also be part of this process.
Long Term Psychotherapy: children or young people can be seen once weekly for longer periods of time (over a year) or in some cases, more intensively (seen more than once weekly) if this is needed.
Parent Work: we can offer sessions to parents so that their concerns about their child’s emotional development can be explored safely and privately. This can offer new ways of understanding to emerge particularly when all the usual strategies seem ineffective.
Family Therapy: we can see children and adults on their own, or with other family members. Seeing a family therapist together can help people to understand and support each other better. Family therapy can help families when they’re feeling overwhelmed, sad and angry; when they’re not sure what to do for the best; or when they feel stuck in repeating patterns of hurtful behaviour.
